What the connection does
The connection holds your shop domain, an Admin API access token, the id of the blog to publish into, and the API version to call. Shopify stores can have more than one blog — "News" is the default — so the id is what decides where an article lands. Publishing an approved article creates an article in that blog; publishing it again updates the one it created.
The title becomes the article's title, the slug becomes its handle, the article's HTML becomes `body_html`, the meta description becomes `summary_html`, and the cover becomes the article's image. Section images are referenced from inside the body with the alt text you approved.
One thing to know before you connect: a Shopify article published from PrismDraft arrives published. There is no draft option on this connector, so if you want a last look inside Shopify, use a publishing plan to control the date, or publish to a signed webhook instead and create the article yourself.
- Needs: the shop domain, an Admin API access token, the blog id, and the API version.
- Sends: title, handle, body HTML, summary HTML, image, and the publication date when one is set.
- Arrives published — this connector has no draft mode.
From your website to a Shopify blog
- 01
Your website becomes a project
One address. PrismDraft reads your pages and drafts the project, the audience, the brand voice and the image style, which you edit before saving.
- 02
A topic with a keyword and an intent
Suggestions arrive on a planning board, each with a working title, a primary keyword, a search intent and a cluster. A keyword the project covers is not proposed twice.
- 03
An outline you approve
A heading per section with its job, its keywords and a target length. Free to generate and free to change, and the thing the draft is written against.
- 04
The run, priced first
About 7 credits for 1,200 words and three images, shown before you start. Each section is written against its heading, with an image prompted from the paragraphs beside it and alt text.
- 05
Approve, then publish to a Shopify blog
Review with versions and comments, edit by hand or with AI, then approve. Publishing is only available from the approved state.

Setting it up
In your Shopify admin, create a custom app, give it write access to blog articles, and install it to get an Admin API access token. Find the id of the blog you want to publish into. In PrismDraft, open the project's integrations, choose Shopify, and paste the shop domain, the token, the blog id and the API version.
Because articles arrive published, do the first one on a quiet blog or at a quiet time, and check the handle, the summary in the blog listing, and the image. If a Shopify blog is a significant part of the store's SEO, a signed webhook that lets you create the article yourself is the more cautious route.
Questions
Which blog do articles go into?
The one whose id you give when you create the connection. A Shopify store can have several blogs, and the id is what picks one.
Can an article arrive as a draft?
Not through this connector: Shopify articles are created published. If you need a review step inside Shopify, publish to a signed webhook and create the article yourself, or control the date with a publishing plan.
Are product links inserted automatically?
No. PrismDraft can suggest links to your other published articles in the same project; it does not know your catalogue and will not invent product links.
What about the SEO title?
Not sent. The summary is set from the meta description, and the rest of the on-page work — the keyword, the structure, the alt text — is in the article itself. Set an SEO title in Shopify if your theme uses one.
Which API version should I use?
The default on the connection is a recent one. Shopify retires versions, so if publishing begins to fail, update it there first.
Can I publish the same article to the store and a blog elsewhere?
A project has one connection, so an article goes to one target. For two destinations, use a signed webhook and fan it out yourself, or keep a project per destination.
